Verdict

Google look-alike domain that silently redirects visitors to a separate 'spoof' page

g00gle.in spells Google with zeros in place of the letter o. When we visited, the page automatically sent the browser to another site, egghunter.in/spoof.html. Public records describe the site as 'Welcome to the Hacker's Lair'. The domain also appears in research results alongside a public Firefox bug report about a cookie-protection bypass. That points to a security-testing setup rather than a shop or a scam that takes money. Even so, a look-alike of a major brand that forwards visitors to a page named 'spoof' is not something ordinary users should visit. One antivirus engine flagged the URL, and the site's own page text was not reviewed. We place it in the High Risk band.

Avoid visiting this site. It is not Google, and it forwards visitors to a spoof page used in security testing. If you meant to reach Google, type google.com directly.

01 · Investigation Brief

Investigation Brief

g00gle.in spells Google with zeros in place of the letter o.

What we observed

Opening the address automatically took the browser to an unrelated external page at egghunter.in/spoof.html, without the visitor choosing to go there.

A website directory lists the domain with the title 'Welcome to the Hacker's Lair' and gives the registrant's country as India.

Our research also returned a public Firefox bug report about a same-site cookie bypass (CVE-2024-1555). This suggests the domain is linked to browser security testing, but the snippet does not show it being used against the public.

Technical checks versus intent

One antivirus engine out of 93 marked the URL as suspicious. That is an isolated detection with no agreement from other engines. The browser threat feed raised no warning, and the connection was properly encrypted.

The domain is about three years old. We found no shop, payment page or sign-up offer in the evidence. The risk comes from the brand look-alike name and the automatic hop to a spoof page, which could serve as a demo of browser exploits.

Why the score is 40

The page automatically sent the browser to an unrelated external site. Coverage remains separate so missing sources cannot be mistaken for clean results.

g00gle.in is an established domain now carrying threat signals. An older domain that starts tripping security checks is a classic pattern for an asset that was sold, repurposed, or compromised — the age alone is not reassurance.

Our automated review flagged enough risk that you should treat this site as unverified.

  1. Analyst recommendation

Avoid visiting this site. It is not Google, and it forwards visitors to a spoof page used in security testing. If you meant to reach Google, type google.com directly.

  2. Treat g00gle.in as unverified

Do not enter credentials or send money until you have independently verified the business.

  3. Verify the business through independent channels

Check the company's social profiles, registry records, and search for recent news or reviews that are not hosted on the site itself.

07 · Safety FAQ

Safety FAQ

Common questions, answered directly from the scan data above — so the answers reflect the saved verdict and evidence in this report.

Is g00gle.in a scam or a legit website?
g00gle.in looks like a likely scam site — avoid interacting with it. 1 of 93 security engines flag it. The domain is 2 years old through GoDaddy. It may not be an outright scam, but the risk is high enough that you should verify it independently before trusting it with money or data.
Is g00gle.in safe to use?
g00gle.in has a Safety Score of 40/100 (High Risk). Analysis coverage is strong at 86%. Avoid login, payment and downloads.
What should I do if I already gave my details to g00gle.in?
If you've already paid or handed over details on g00gle.in, act quickly. 1) Contact your bank or card issuer immediately and ask to dispute the charge or open a chargeback — the sooner you act, the better your odds. 2) Report the site to the U.S. FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov or the FBI's IC3 at ic3.gov, and in the UK to Action Fraud at actionfraud.police.uk. 3) If you entered a password, change it on g00gle.in and anywhere you reused it, and turn on two-factor authentication. 4) Watch your bank and email for follow-up fraud, and keep screenshots as evidence.
Can I get my money back from g00gle.in?
Often yes, if you act fast. Payments made by credit or debit card can frequently be reversed through a chargeback or dispute — contact your bank right away and explain it was a fraudulent site. Bank transfers and gift-card or voucher payments are much harder to recover, but you should still report them to your bank and to the FTC (reportfraud.ftc.gov) or Action Fraud (actionfraud.police.uk). Avoid any "refund" or "recovery" service that contacts you first — it's usually a follow-up scam.
Is my device at risk after visiting g00gle.in?
Just viewing a scam page is usually low-risk on an up-to-date browser — the real danger is what it asks you to DO (enter details, download a file, send money). If you downloaded anything, run a full antivirus scan and treat the file as untrusted. If you entered a password or card number, change the password everywhere you reused it and contact your bank.
How do I report g00gle.in?
You can report g00gle.in through several official channels: the U.S. FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov, the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) at ic3.gov, and — in the UK — Action Fraud at actionfraud.police.uk. You can also flag it to Google Safe Browsing (safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish) so other browsers warn about it, and report it to the company being impersonated if there is one. Reporting helps get scam sites taken down faster.
Why does g00gle.in look legitimate if it's a scam?
Modern scams are built to look convincing. A valid SSL padlock, a polished template, stock photos, fake reviews, and a trust badge can all be added in minutes and prove nothing about who runs the site. Scammers buy cheap domains, clone real designs, and copy legal pages wholesale. That's exactly why an automated review that checks the domain's age, hosting, blacklists, and behaviour — rather than just how the page looks — is more reliable than a first impression.
Has g00gle.in been flagged by antivirus engines?
Yes. 1 of 93 antivirus and blocklist engines in our malware network flagged g00gle.in as suspicious. A single "suspicious" vote is a weak signal on its own, so it is weighed alongside the other checks rather than treated as a confirmed threat.
Is g00gle.in on any phishing or malware blacklists?
No — g00gle.in is not currently on the major browser blocklist feeds that Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge rely on. Note that blocklists can lag behind brand-new scam domains, so "not listed" is reassuring but not a guarantee on its own.
How old is the g00gle.in domain?
g00gle.in is 2 years old, registered on November 18, 2023 through GoDaddy. A multi-year registration history is one of the stronger signals against a scam, though it's never a guarantee on its own — established domains can still be misused.
Does g00gle.in have a valid SSL certificate?
Yes — g00gle.in presents a valid TLSv1.3 certificate issued by Let's Encrypt · YR1, valid for another 82 days. Important caveat: SSL only encrypts the connection between you and the site — it does not verify who runs it. Almost all scam sites now have valid SSL too, so a padlock alone never means "safe".
How often is the g00gle.in report updated?
This report is a record of the scan run on October 24, 2026, and the verdict reflects that point in time. Scam sites change fast — they can go live, get flagged, or vanish within days — so if you believe something about g00gle.in has changed, MalwareTips staff can run a fresh scan that re-checks every signal from scratch and republishes an updated verdict.
