Part of Windows Update's download network
DNS records show www.download.windowsupdate.com routing through www.download.windowsupdate.com.delivery.microsoft.com and then to wu-f-net.trafficmanager.net. A second DNS index also lists this name next to download.windowsupdate. That makes it a traffic-routing hostname that Windows Update uses to deliver files.
When we visited it directly, the address returned an 'Invalid URL' page with an HTTP 404 status. An independent scan service recorded the same title. There was no shop, login form, or download offer for us to assess, and the site's own pages could not be reviewed.
